Team-Based Learning with Learning Catalytics
Why don’t students remember what they learn, even when they study hard? How can we help students boost their learning strategies to increase their success in and outside of the classroom? In this session, we will engage in an easy to implement, research-based strategy for using peer collaboration and brain science to help people remember what they learn in educational settings and transfer their learning to new contexts. After this session, participants will be able to facilitate experiences so that the most important things for students to learn stick. You'll need your computer or a wifi-enabled smart phone for this presentation!

Penne Restad

I am a historian at the University of Texas at Austin. My academic interests are late 19th and early 20th century U.S. social and cultural history. I'm also interested in designing courses that explore how students learn to think, research, and write about history.
